About Us

I have fished on Lake Winnipesaukee for over 50 years trolling for Salmon & Trout. My passion and knowledge of fishing started at age 5. In 1997, I purchased Waldron’s fishing store in Meredith, NH and started my own retail store, A.J.’s Bait & Tackle which I operated for 23 years. In 2019, the store was voted Best Sporting Goods Store in the Lakes Region.

In 2018, I obtained my NH Fishing Guides License, my NH Commercial Boater’s License, started A.J.’s Great Spirit Charter company and turned my love of being on the water fishing with my clients into a reality. I am also a member of the NH Professional Guides Association.

I make my own bucktail jigs, streamer flies, Salmon attractors and non-lead products. In 2020 to expand my custom products, I acquired two companies, Moosalamoo Shoe-Horn, and Tufcore Soft Baits. At the same time, I decided to start a new business, A.J.’s Custom Products and sold the retail store to The Tackle Shack.

A.J.’s Custom Products focus is on producing custom fishing products for anglers. Our products can be found on this website and at select tackle stores throughout NH, VT & ME.
